Who really was this man Jesus Christ who was born in Bethlehem, Israel 2,011 years ago? Most people have heard of Him and our calendar is dated from His birth. Josephus, a renowned 1st century Jewish historian describes Jesus as a teacher and miracle worker and His life has been the most influential life ever lived on this planet.
He was crucified at age 33 after living his life as a carpenter and then had only 3 years of public ministry.
Was He just a religious leader? How is He different from other religious leaders? His claims set Him apart from others. Jesus claimed to be God, the only way to God and the only source of the forgiveness of sins and the only way of salvation. These are bold claims. (more…)
It’s estimated up to two billion people had their eyes on the royal wedding this week. Everyone loves a romance! I loved the opening of the message of the Bishop to William and Kate. “Be who God meant you to be and set the world on fire.” Some further gems were “spiritual life grows as love finds its centre beyond ourselves. The more we give of self the richer we become in soul. The more we go beyond ourselves in love the more we become our true selves and our spiritual beauty is more fully revealed.” (more…)
If you are in debt, then you can exercise your authority as a child of God and call your debts paid. Jesus said, “If you had faith (trust and confidence in God) even [so small] like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea, and it would obey you.” (Luke 17:6 AMP)
Think about it: paper money, notes, and mortgages are made out of trees and Jesus said the tree would obey your faith filled words. (more…)
