This is a very textured work with the positive statement “a brighter tomorrow” written into the painting. The intention is to encourage the viewer that it is within their power, with making right choices, that their tomorrows will be brighter.

This work represents young ladies having a social night out hoping to meet the man of their dreams. Your personality shines through your eyes so I have chosen to have the eyes closed so you can you put yourself into the painting, if it relates to you.

This is the first of a series. I personally marvel at the stars and the universe. It displays the awesome handiwork of our creator God. It has a cross in the work as a reminder that God has the universe and His whole creation in His hands.

Christchurch’s beautiful cathedral was badly damaged in an earthquake, including losing it’s steeple. It is hoped the cathedral will be rebuilt. I was inspired to portray the cathedral in an artwork showing the damaged cathedral and a rebuilt cathedral. I wanted to portray this from a Christian perspective. The cross of Christ is the place of true hope so I’ve placed the cross back on the steeple and made the statement that ‘my hope comes from God’. The message of ‘hope’ in the artwork is to encourage the lives of the many precious hurting people in Christchurch that they can be truly restored with hope and trust in God.

I love painting the female face and this one is different to what I’ve painted before because of the colours and the technique. It is the first of a series where the purpose is to build the self esteem of the viewer. With being available in prints this would be wonderful for teenage girls to hang in their rooms.
